Roles and competence groups has requirements that can be found under the tab Requirements. The competence requirements specifies what is required to possess a role or position.

The requirements can be defined as competence groups, competences or courses from the course catalog.

Mandatory or not.

When setting requirements for competence groups and roles, it will normally be required to implement the requirements.

It is still possible to edit the requirements and define that individual competence groups and/or competences should not be mandatory. To change from mandatory to not mandatory:

  1. Go to competence group or role.
  2. Click the Requirements tab.
  3. Click the edit-icon.
  4. Remove the check mark and click Update.

Regarding competence groups, you can only determine that the entire package may not be mandatory. Within the individual competence group or role, you can decide whether competences should be mandatory or not.

Either/or requirements

If several courses cover the same competence requirements, you can set up an either/or requirement. So users must either take Course 1 or Course 2 or Course 3. This is done as follows:

  1. Add the appropriate requirements.
  2. Click Edit:


  3. Select that only one requirement must be completed.

By reading the text over the table on the left, you can see if all or one of the requirements must be completed. It will either inform that Only one requirement must be completed or that All requirements must be completed. You can also look at the column Mandatory, it will have the text Either if you have a choice about which competence to be completed.
